The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training is made up of 36 credits. The overall learning outcomes are:

- Enhance analytical, practical and evaluative skills relating to teaching and education across all sectors
- Develop the Learner’s ability to recognise and reflect on the process of personal learning and development which facilitates the enhancement of key personal, sociable and other transferable skills

- Identify understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
- Understand how to plan to meet the needs of learners in education and training

The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training has 10 units in total. Learners must complete all mandatory units and then choose a minimum of 15 credits from the optional units. A minimum of 36 credits is required to achieve the Diploma.
This qualifications is approved and regulated by government regulated body Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) to ensure consistent course quality.

Equivalences
This qualification at Level 4 represent practical knowledge, skills, capabilities and competences that are assessed in academic terms as being equivalent to year 1 of Bachelors degree in the UK.
